About the apiary

How Cape Apiaries operates

Cape Apiaries is the kind of small, careful operation that the high-end mānuka market increasingly rewards. Each batch is tagged to the specific apiary site it came from, with public batch IDs printed on every jar — buyers can look up which stand of bush their jar came from, what week it was extracted, and what UMF and MGO it tested at. They release sparingly and sell out most years.

Practices

  • Single-site batch traceability
  • No blending across apiary sites
  • All extractions on-site, no contract packing
  • Public batch IDs printed on jars

Certifications

  • Apiculture NZ
  • MPI RMP
  • UMFHA member
