How Hokianga Hives operates
Hokianga Hives is one of the few NZ apiaries to commercially release single-flora pohutukawa — typically a 200g release of around 600 jars in late January, often sold to subscribers before it ever hits a shelf. Their main commercial run is mānuka (UMF 5+ and 10+), and a multifloral 'Hokianga bush blend' is their year-round staple. Small operation, big reputation.
