About the apiary

How Rangitāiki Rewarewa operates

Rangitāiki Rewarewa runs hives across the bush blocks behind Whakatāne and into the Urewera, timing each placement to the rewarewa flowering window. Their single-flora rewarewa is the deep, malty, locally-loved style. Outside the rewarewa season they harvest a multifloral bush blend from the same stands. They consciously don't run mānuka — partly because of the harvest pressure, partly because rewarewa is the harvest they care about.
